Dr. Chris Baker

Dr. Christopher Baker studied forensic psychology at the City University of New York before graduating with his Psy.D. in clinical psychology from the APA-accredited Regent University in Virginia.

He completed his APA-accredited internship and post-doctoral training at the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC, and the Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC, respectively. Most of his research, including his dissertation, has focused on applications of the MMPI family of psychological assessments. He is a published author on the neuropsychiatric implications of obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Baker has also held adjunct teaching positions in psychiatry at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine and psychology at Regent University.

After working for VA medical centers in primary care settings and then as a specialized assessment psychologist, Dr. Baker returned to his original passion of forensic practice. In his spare time, you can find Dr. Baker hiking—he recently completed the Tour du Mont Blanc in the Alps—playing classical piano, and spending time with his friends and family.

He left community mental health to accept a position at Old Vineyard Behavioral Health, where he provided inpatient treatment to sexually aggressive youth in a psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF).
